For the past couple of weeks, Philippians 2:13 has been alive in me and I have been speaking it out loud over my life. Paul says "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him." (NLT)
Paul is reminding us that when God is at work in us, it is Him giving us His desires and then His power to accomplish those desires. We are not alone in our "doing." He doesn't ask us to do something and then say "Ok.....see ya later, good luck!" He comes alongside us and encourages us and speaks His truth into us, knowing that it is through His strength we can do all things.
If you are trying to do something, like change a habit, lose some weight, be consistent in quiet time, be kinder and more patient, be a more attentive wife, stop gossiping, break an addictive cycle or anything else.....let me ask you.....in whose strength are you trying to make the change? Yours or His?
Why not adopt this verse this week as your very own. Put your name in the place of the word "you" and confess this Word over your life so it can become life to your very bones!
Let go of guilt, shame and any other negative emotion and let the Lord replace it with the Truth of Who He is in you.
Let's be grateful for a God who loves us enough to go to the effort of working in us and giving us His power to do what pleases Him. We are blessed to be able to serve such an awesome, powerful, and attentive God!
Have a great week.....
