In 1984 God provided an opportunity for Harold and Natalie to go to Haiti and it is there God gave them a vision of His plans for His people - the Haitians and themselves. It seemed daunting and massive and more than they could imagine but they said Yes! Yes to whatever God had for them. Yes to these people. Yes to work the fields for the Kingdom. This is the birth of Haiti Endowment Fund.
Almost 27 years later I want you to hear what saying "Yes" to the Lord can do for a hurting country, for hurting people, for those who desperately need Jesus and for those who heed the call. Currently, Haiti Endowment Fund has built and supports 17 churches with a weekly attendance of approximately 6,500, 13 schools with approximately 3,200 students. Each school has a feeding program so the children can be nourished each day. Each church has a program where they teach the village about agriculture and growing their own food, tilapia beds, and provide wells for clean water. HEF has now opened a learning center where their students (adults) are learning skills for employment. They are taught a trade in order to provide for their families.
Today, Harold and Natalie's children and grandchildren carry the call to love the Haitian people and bring them to Jesus. It's something that has now spanned across generations....all because two people said "Yes" to the call.
I believe many people would have said they were doing plenty by Pastoring churches here in the United States but God had more in mind, a bigger plan than Harold and Natalie could have ever imagined! This is a story of two ordinary people who said "yes" to an extraordinary God. Now it's a love story that thousands of people have been a part of, been touched by and now God's Kingdom is that much bigger, stronger and prosperous because "They said yes!"
We don't all have to go to Haiti or across the globe to be used by Him. All He is looking for is a heart that says "Yes" and is willing to do the work...not for our own glory but to bring Him glory and to build His Kingdom.
"For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His." 2 Chronicles 16:9
When we say "yes" to God, even in the craziest things.....He will multiply and bless and keep His promises for generations to come.
Please keep Harold and Natalie and HEF in your prayers as they continue the work God has called them to do.
