Free from fear. Free from addiction. Free from consumption. Free from anxiety.
Free from sickness. Free from gluttony. Free from lust. Free from debt. Free from anger. Free from resentment. Free from animosity. Free from rejection. Free from sin.
Why does God want us free? Because we love better when we are free. We represent His heart more accurately when we are free. That's why.
In so many situations we know what to do. The Word is clear on how to handle a lot of the subjects I mentioned above. We are not in the dark about what our role is. But we struggle in the "doing." But it's in the "doing" where freedom is found. Listen to what James says in chapter one, verse 25.
Then, "whoever sticks with it"... it requires action to obey. Freedom almost always requires us to "act" and James promises that a man or woman of action will find delight and affirmation in the "doing".
I think the enemy plays a dirty trick on us when he convinces us that if we obey, we will be miserable. The exact opposite is true. When we obey God's Word ... acting on what we know to do ... we find a free life. And that is one thing satan never wants for us.
Are you in need of freedom today? Ask God "what action are You wanting me to take?"
Take time to listen. Then, in an act of obedience, "do" what He asks. And get ready ... cause freedom is on it's way!
