Let me share with you two such stories. One particular situation has lasted 10 months. We have taken up our friend's request, called her familiy's name, asked God to move, then asked God to move quickly because we knew time was running out, and nothing...that we could see.
Another friend has been in a very tough situation for over six years. A situation that has felt like a battlefield, a place where her beliefs and life were being attacked from every side. We have asked God to move in miraculous ways, to remove the issue, and to show Himself. After several years, we have asked God to give us just a little glimpse of what He is up to, and nothing...that we could see.
In the past weeks, based on different circumstances, both of my friends, and those who have joined them in prayer, have had a glimpse of God's sovereign hand. As life has unfolded and the veil has been lifted on circumstances, both of them have said to me, "This would have been so much worse had God answered our prayers the way we wanted, now I can see He was protecting me/us!"
The Word gives us a reminder that we only have this earthly view to filter our life through and we don't have the Big picture. Only God does and the truth is, He loves us so much more than we can comprehend. His love will go to great lengths to work on our behalf, such lengths that we can't wrap our minds around. At times this elaborate love will feel or appear like He is not listening, that He doesn't care but I want to give you HOPE that He is always at work on our behalf, protecting us, guiding us, and ever so quietly loving on us.
Here are a few scriptures to pray over your circumstances when you just can't see Him moving:
Isaiah 64:4 "Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him."
Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are you ways my ways," declares the Lord."
Romans 8:38-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is in your midst, a might one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by his love; He will exalt over you with loud singing."
I pray this post give you His hope, that you feel His overwhelming love for you. I pray this post give you peace to trust Him just a few more days/months/years for what is His best for you. I pray that God reveals Himself to you in a gentle, loving way so you feel His unending, immeasurable love for you and your loved ones as you wait.
