Period. No discussion. No debate. It doesn't really matter what your opinion is on this one...it does not change the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord.
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6) He is Lord of all creation and everything in it.
But...is He Lord over you?
This is the question each of us better begin to ask ourselves in a very serious manner.
Is Jesus Lord of our life? Because in all honesty, nothing else really matters.
Have you seen and heard what is happening to Christians all over this world? They are dying by the thousands BECAUSE Jesus is Lord of their life. They are being asked, "Are you a Christ follower?" And so many are dying as the answer of "Yes" escapes their lips. They are sitting in jail cells, because THEY LOVE JESUS.
Is Jesus Lord of your life? If you have to think about the answer, consider the ramifications, ponder what that really means...than the answer is no.
I implore you...come to a decision right now...make Him Lord. Lord over everything. Fall in love with Him. Fall in love with His Word. Be obsessed with Jesus. It's the only obsession that won't have negative impact on your life, but instead open it to love like no other love, gifts that you never want to return, and grace you never thought possible.
Is Jesus Lord over your mouth? What you say?
Is Jesus Lord over your wallet? What you spend your money on?
Is Jesus Lord over your ego? What you think of yourself?
Is Jesus Lord over your hands? What you do?
Is Jesus Lord over your possessions? What you own?
Is Jesus Lord over your feet? Where you are willing to go?
Is Jesus Lord over your time? How you spend it?
Is Jesus Lord over your attitude? How you act?
It's time we start looking at ourselves...who we really are...and asking "Is Jesus really Lord of my life? Or am I?"
The day is coming when we, as the body of Christ, will be tested. We will have to answer for Who we stand for. We will have to stand behind a Word, that is NOT AND NEVER WILL BE popular in the culture. We will have to be love and kindness to folks who are treating us unfairly and cruel. Wait for it...it is coming. And if He is not Lord of your life, you will back down.
Being a Christian today is not what it used to be. If you are going to call yourself a "CHRISTian", it's more than going to church on Sunday. It means BEING the church Monday - Saturday. It means speaking truth, yet loving unconditionally, and turning the other cheek. It means laying down your life. Being willing to go and do what He asks of you.
Are you ready to get serious about your relationship with God? To go deep. To abandon everything for His sake. This is what He calls us to. Total abandon. Total obsession. Total commitment. Totally to Him.
