I want to encourage the young mommas today. If you are hearing/thinking "you are a failure," "you are a horrible mom and wife," "you don't measure up." I want to encourage you, these are not words from the HOLY Spirit. The Holy Spirit wants you to know, in your weakness, He will make you strong, when you feel desperate, He is your lifeline. Don't listen to the lies of the enemy.....God entrusted you with these precious little ones - He knew what He was doing....He called you to be their momma on purpose!
I also want to give you some practical advise to help alleviate some stress. Stop all the chores, stop all the self-talk about how you won't get it all done and just play with your little ones. Although this season feels like an eternity, let me assure you they will not be this little for long. Make sure you take time to truly enjoy being with them.....look for the delight in their eyes with the "new" of the day. Get down on the floor and play....and take in all the joy that comes from the simplest things.
Research shows us a strong correlation between a child's academic and social success and their ability to pretend play. How do they learn to be sophisticated "players?" From you! Now this isn't to put more pressure on you; it's to give you assurance that the laundry can wait.....it really is important to spend time playing with your children every day.
Being able to pretend helps your child think about others, think about what other people say and do, and think about how everyday scenarios play out. Eventually, they will learn communication skills, language skills, social skills and even those great "reading" and "predicting" skills.....all from play!
So, sit back and play a bit.....have some fun, laugh, and enjoy the precious time with your little ones. He longs for you to enjoy the gift of those sweet babies!
