Why is it such a challenge on some days... ok, a lot of days... to believe His Word and the promises He gives us? For instance....He promises that if we give, He will give back to us. Pressed down, shaken together and running over the Bible says in Luke 6:38. But when a financial crisis arises....we panic! We stress out! We search for a solution of our own instead of taking the promise of His Word and standing on it. We've given, we have obeyed the Word in the giving of the tithe....we can then stand on Luke 6:38 and remind God what His Word promises us.
God LOVES it when we take His promises and appropriate them to our life. This is why He made these wonderful promises for us in the first place. So our life could be filled with His faithfulness and power!
The sad thing is, a lot of us don't take advantage of all the cool gifts God wants to pour into our life. because at the very root of who we are....we really don't think God wants "good stuff" for us. This must sadden His heart like crazy. Think about your child....what if you had an amazing gift to give them and were so excited to give it but when you presented it, they didn't believe you really loved them that much and they refused the gift. How sad would that make you?
It's the same with God. He loves us so much and has amazing gifts for us....but we must believe He is good and wants good for us. We have to stop listening to the lies that we are not worthy. We are worthy because of Jesus and the cross....
God is your personal Promise Keeper. He does what He says He will do. He never changes His mind. If He says He will always be with you, then He will always be with you and never forsake you. If He says He loves you with an everlasting love, then His love for you will never change and will stand the test of time. If He says He will provide all your needs according to His riches in glory, then He will be your Jehovah Jirah, your provider.
Learn today to take God at His Word....stand on it. Remind Him what the Word says and thank Him for being the best Promise Keeper ever!
