Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad God calls me out of the boat. I'm grateful He doesn't allow me to bask in ease and luxury in this life. If He did, I would be totally bored.
In practicing faith, I find Him. There is a mystery to faith. We don't always know what is going to happen or how God is going to move....or IF God is going to move in the way we are asking Him.
Faith is coming to grips with the truth that God has our best interest at heart. ALWAYS. He knows what we need and what we don't. He has impeccable timing. He is NEVER out of control and wringing His hands on how He is going to handle our situation. He is a ROCK, our rock. The One we build our life on.
When we trust God, we acknowledge He is reliable. He is capable. He is IN control, at all times.
When we choose, and it is a choice, to allow our flesh to rise higher than our spirit, we will drown in doubt, fear, anxiety and worry.
The other day I was in the car and I could feel my flesh rising up and trying to overtake my attitude and my faith. I did not like how I was feeling. I recognized the worry and anxiety. I began to speak the name of Jesus out loud. I said His name about twenty times, each time getting a bit louder and stronger. Then I started letting God's Word come out of my mouth. I spoke it like it was the answer to all my troubles.
Faith filled my car. Worry and anxiety left. Fast. They simply could not stay as the Presence of the Living God filled my car. The name of Jesus will drive out any attempt the devil makes at messing with your faith.
Action, my friend. We must take action if we are going to live a life of faith. It is not easy to act at times. Faith is not easy very much of the time. But it is required if we are going to live the life God has planned for us...and that is the life I want!
